THE SIM 3D ANIMATED SHORT GETS A WARDDROBE UPGRADE

THE SIM 3D ANIMATED SHORT GETS A WARDDROBE UPGRADE

ERI UMUSU keeps tweaking the 3d animated short we all love. We keep getting various variants of the short film and now we are beginning to wonder if this is actually a short film or a full length 3D movie in the making. Rumour has it that a Telco might be the reason behind this wardrobe change. more after the cut

The latest upgrade to the short film reminds you so much of the just concluded Disney Box office hit Big Hero 6. Especially with the red costume that SIM is now wearing and the big robot accompanying her in this still.

Rumours have it that a telecommunications company might be interested in the animation and this might be the reason for the costume change. However this is only a rumour. We will get you full details soon.

PITCH PERFECT 2 EARNED MORE MONEY THAN MAD MAX ON THURSDAY NIGHT

Interesting news coming in some few hours ago and most likely a *hula shula vurbish* and though Max senpai may have hit the gag sometime ago, in the mean time, he’s getting his ass kicked by a bunch of young a cappella singers #I_love_Accapella . Of the two highly anticipated sequels opening this weekend, Pitch Perfect 2 out earned Mad Max: Fury Road at early screenings.
 Both films debuted to the public last Thursday night (2 nights ago), and according to Deadline and their sources, significantly more people were drawn to the theatre to see the further adventures of the Barden Bellas than they were the post-apocalyptic action fronted by Max Rockatansky. Fury Road took in $3.7 million Thursday night in 3000 theatres, while Pitch Perfect 2 earned $4.6 million on 2600 screens, not only besting its competition in total gross, but scoring a significantly higher per screen average, isn’t that freaking amazing? It was surprising though.
So, while still obviously early in the going, these numbers put Pitch Perfect 2 on pace for an approximately $50 million opening weekend, while Fury Road is on pace to earn around $40 million. This is very good news for one of these movies, and not so hot for the other right?!.
Pitch Perfect 2 was produced on a budget of approximately $29 million, which, in real world terms is a lot of money, though relatively little in Hollywood. At this rate, it will almost double its entire shooting cost after this weekend. The first movie was a slow burn that had legs and built up steam over time. If the sequel follows a similar path, banking on a fully engaged young female demographic, Universal stands to make a tidy profit, and all the talk of Pitch Perfect 3 that has already been going around won’t be just talk for much longer.
Fury Road, on the other hand, cost significantly more, with numbers between $150 and $200 million being bandied about. Either way, that’s a lot of money. Basically one long chase scene, the massive stunts (they wrecked hundreds of cars), far off locations (Namibia), big stars (Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron), and special effects added up.
When you factor in the international box office, Fury Road will likely make its money back—action translates well, especially in this case, as dialogue is a rather sparse commodity—but unless it pulls of some crazy financial acrobatics, we’ll have to wait and see what becomes of George Miller’s numerous proposed sequels. Warner Bros. is hoping that strong early reviews—it has currently sits at a 98% Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes with almost 200 reviews—will translate into a longer, more profitable run, and they also has the 3D markup to consider.
 No matter how the box office results shake out, you should totally go see both Pitch Perfect 2 and Mad Max: Fury Road. The first may not be quite as good a movie as its predecessor, but it’s a blast and will more than satisfy extant fans, and the second, well, it’s just totally bananas and may light your hair on fire. Both are in theatres now.
Well, if Pitch Perfect wasn’t my favourite Acapella movie, I’d definitely scream, cos you just can’t compare fury road in terms of make, but sales..., that’s okay.

ZIMBABWE COMICS ARE SERIOUS BUSINESS

www.comexposed.com

The comic scene in Africa is getting bigger with each year and looks like its about to explode with several Comic Cons springing up. One of such is the Zimbabwe Comic Con happening in April in Harare. While others still argue on whether what we actually have can be called an Industy Eugene Mapondera takes a dive and analysis if really comics is serious business. Check out excerpts from the article after the cut

Its not uncommon in Africa to hear questions directed at people who make a living creating comic books or in the arts like, “Are comic books serious business?” or “Aren’t comic books for children?” . Most professionals and parents to young people in Africa who grew up in a time when professions like teaching , nursing accounting, law and medicine were the expected career paths find it worrying or bewildering at the least that a young person may seek to pursue a professional career as a comic book artist or writer. It simply doesn’t equate to “serious business” or “real work” .Comic books invoke visions of toddlers gathered around TV sets on Saturday mornings watching Tom and Jerry or tearing up a dated and boring newspaper cartoon after starring at the drawings for a few minutes. On this note This article aspires to look at the reality and viability of comic books today in the world and their potential in Africa. And hopefully will prove that Comics are “serious business”.

Patoranking Blows Hot In New Interview!!!

Dancehall king and rave of the moment who is actually not up to two years in the music industry has said it all in this new interview with Saturday Beats. According to Patoranking, ladies inspired him to start singing reggae songs. He was forced to listen to most of them in his secondary school days so that girls could trip for him. Pato also says Tiwa Savage and Seyi Shay like people think, do not twerk for him, but they only try to perfect their acts on stage like it is done in the western world. He also said the young boy a lot of people have said is his, is actually his mother’s last child and he adores him.

Then finally he said what will make girls seat up. Pato is single with no girlfriend! And erm this might break your heart; he says instead of laying with girls when he feels horny, he rather gets a soap and hit the bathroom to do the needful- you know now, self servicing! Oh dear, don’t you just love his openness? Lol. And hmm, I never knew all these Lagos girls who attend every show are not even fascinating, so none of you can trap Patoranking down? Oga ho, so until Patoranking too will go to another African country like Davido and Ice Prince to get a girlfriend before you know whats up? Keep disappointing us ho, just keep it up. Lol. Oya read the interesting interview after the cut.

“One of the reasons I chose reggae even though it might sound funny is because of the girls. I remember back then in secondary school, if you did not know how to mime songs, you could not get the girls and I like standing out. I thought it would be wise for me to mime the songs that my colleagues won’t know. I listened to more reggae songs. Whenever I did that, the girls were always impressed. I listened to a lot of Bob Marley and Lucky Dube’s songs.

On Tiwa Savage and Seyi Shay twerking for him on stage, Pato says;

“It is not that the female singers just twerk for me, it is a performance and we make sure we give people what they want. Most people think they twerk for me and I get aroused or ‘catch feelings’ but I don’t even respond to stimuli at all. We are just trying to make it look like what they do abroad. You see the likes of Beyonce twerking for Kanye. It is just a stage performance”.

About marriage;

“If I tell you that I want to marry right now, would you not lie me down and beat me? I am single and ready to mingle. Right now, I am just concerned about my career and family. Marriage is not in the question for me. I don’t have a girlfriend. I am not a promiscuous fellow and if I ever need to blow off steam, I would rather make use of soap in the bathroom than be with random girls,” he said jokingly.

About his assumed love child;

“I don’t have a son; the boy people think is my son is the last born of my mother. He is my brother and he would be ten this year. His name is Rafa. He is my baby brother”.
