Akimbo is a pure comedy-fiction with lots of intrigue and information plus lots of entertainment. Any resemblance to persons, living or dead, or from any storyline is strictly coincidental, the same goes for names, items and places.
Akimbola Segun Ademola Senior had searched the whole world for a son and had tried all means necessary to get a child but to no avail. Even when his wife got pregnant, miscarriages were the end results. They finally had a child, a girl by the name Shade and based on common African mentality a son heir is required to continue his father’s legacy and succeed him. This was the case with the Ademolas. They had a daughter and they still needed a son.
One fateful day, something extraordinary happened and they became living testimonies to the great deeds of the Hand, the Almighty.
Akimbo Junior is born after ten years of been son barren and even at that ten years later, Mrs. Ademola is pregnant yet again even in her age. It was as though the children were meant to be ten years spaced apart.
This wonderful and blissful family lived in one of the five Mage Estates; the Mountain Estate. Here lived six families with several characteristics and abilities.
They all lived happily and most of all loved themselves as though they were brothers and sisters. There could be quarrels and slight misunderstandings, but they were always making up for the lapses.
The five Mage Estates; River Estate, Mountain Estate, Sky Estate, Fire Estate and the Luminous Estate were homes for real men with talents and money making ideas. Those who inhabited these dwelling places were in other words, extremely rich, but they were different from any ordinary rich men, and they were in everything rich. They were rich in talents, in caring for their fellow man and even for the poor; that was in the first place the essence for setting up the Estates by their Predecessors.
From the word ‘mage’ which means one who uses magic, the Estates was named, for these men’s predecessors were indeed men of magic, men who possessed the greatest of all magic, magic that could do only good and will become good when possessed by a wrong hand. This magic so magnificent, magic that blooms within the skies of the night as its stars, this magic that creates destiny’s pathway to life, this magic was LOVE.
They had love for each other and they cared about the community in which they dwelt and tried to contribute their own quota to helping the poor and the needy.
They could possibly do this on their own with or without the Estates but there was a force fighting them from doing good deeds. They were everywhere, both in the common man and even in the government. They were high ranking men and women who would stop at nothing than to see the world crumble before their very own eyes. They were 12 in number and they had one master who is referred to as the Demon Lord.
He is feared amidst the Feudal demons of hell and the devil’s personal assistant, so the rumor goes. But what was he actually?
The demon Lord had both powers and skills. He had knowledge unfathomable and these were his advantage against the world as a whole. His political power made him embezzle funds though they meant nothing to him and squander them so that the people would remain in suffering.
The Federal Government and those below him try to combat this threat to their reign but to no avail. Prayers alone will not save the economy; it needs someone to challenge this demon head on.
There in that time was left a prophecy to rid the world off the Demon Lord’s claws, a prophecy to liberate the world.
The prophecy speaks of two children, one a forerunner and the other a master. They both will possess the real magic to combat the Demon Lord’s threat. They both will have power and knowledge but they had to work for them and earn them themselves or they’ll fail.
Akimbo grows up here in the Estate amidst rich folks and yet he is destined for greatness. What other greatness could one possibly acquire again aside this life of luxury? He is the next in line to the Ademolas and he will succeed his father in death, what money would he possibly need?
Well, he needed more than the money since they do not know if the forerunner had yet been born. The Estate was fully rich in everything and this richness is what Akimbo must learn in order to prepare the way for the master.
With the characters and the wisdom and knowledge he gets from the likes of Brian Dalton, Shade Ademola, Imoni Dalton and a whole lot of them, he is yet ready to fulfil this prophecy.
But unknown to the Child bearer, the demon Lord knows well of the prophecy and does everything possible to stop it from coming to fulfilment. The 12 come into play here and since they were merely cadets he wishes to test the forerunner’s abilities.
It just gets interesting as you read on and get the comedy fantasia mixing up with this epic and fiction. This is the future we are about to experience and no one can stop it unless the child is born.
